naked victoria's secret models can sell anything
This is more than just naked girls prancing in the street. It's an effort to promote Victoria's Secret. Even though there doesn't appear to be any Victoria's Secret apparel in the clip. The press release say that it's "already received a lot of attention around the world for its titillating music video". Interesting.
Apparently this is part of a new Victoria's Secret TV campaign - even though the video was released months ago (because tv is slow??). And the parody is just as entertaining.

who says models have to be hipsters or hotties?

If apparel is awesome, it should make anyone look great. Even a random old man. That's how Japanese brand Unused has positioned their 2009 Fall/Winter collection. (Maybe your modeling days aren't over, after all.)

a micro niche audience that's totally hot

So the people at Vans are doing something a little different. They've opened a Model Lounge at the Delicatessen Restaurant in NYC.
Here's how it works: Access is limited to female fashion models at invited Top 10 Agencies. They get an all-access card. They get to hang with other beautious types between casting calls, shoots and cigarettes. They get a bunch of cool gifts (and Vans gear) that they could totally afford to buy on their own. They see the entire Vans Girls line.
And just maybe, hot models start wearing the Vans Girls product. And then other girls follow suit. And guys like hot girls that wear Vans. And so they buy more Vans product. Hot girls are happy, guys are frustrated and Vans sells product.
Genius? Weird? Proof that hot people live better than you do? All of the above?

what to do tonight in nyc

If you're a girl, you could dress up in sexy vintage pinup outfits and pose for photographers. Or, if you fancy yourself a photographer, you can take photos of girls in sexy vintage pinup outfits.
It's all a part of the New York Pin-Up Photography Meetup Group. This is a club of women who like to dress vintage sexy, and of photographers who like to shoot women who like to dress vintage sexy. Sounds like a match. Their next meeting is tonight, at Lucky Jacks. Lucky Jacks. Ahem. Back to work.

This is begging to be a really sweet print ad campaign. So wanna see this in a series of full page ads in the next issue of Wired.

now every pic can feel like real life

TechCrunch has a post up about FotoWoosh, a new service that can turn any 2D image into an animated 3D model. Very cool stuff. This image above is cooler-looking than all 90 minutes of Jaws 3-D and with about the same amount of effort!
