drippy pillows ![]() Pillows rock. Who couldn't use another one? These sweet pillows come pre-dripped in your choice of green or blue. Available at Angry Retail. (Why be angry, when there's more than 25 days left of shopping?)

break tradition in style ![]() For a very cool alternative to the traditional wall sconce, check out the Mono Wall Mounted Oil Lamp, designed by Franz Mauer. Definitely not your grandmother's wall sconce... from fitzsu.com. Labels: designer, home, modern

funky pendant lamps ![]() Every modern store seems to be offering different variations of these funky pendant lamps right now. Some of the pendants have a very organic feel, while others are very clean and modern. The one shown above would be very cool over a couch, or a dining room table. I could easily see it at a lounge or restaurant. Incorporating any of these artistic light fixtures into a room, would definitely bring the living space up a notch in the style category. keep them alive ![]() OK, this breaks my rule of trying to focus on gifts under $100 (this one's $850), but given all of the survival news of late, The ICE-Qube is a great idea. Everything a family would need to survive, in the event of a catastrophe, packed into a cool designed box. Think Katrina. It could happen to you. If like me, you're not giving any gifts this year in the $850 range - look at this as inspiration. You could build your own family survival box for MUCH less. And there are some really cool containers and things around, if you look hard enough. Everyone will look at you and say things like "ohh.... that's sooo thoughtful. What a wonderful gift." Thank me later. Ice-Qube discovered at Core77. Labels: creatives, handmade, home

stress clock ![]() Personally, this clock creates great stress for me. Numbers. Lots of numbers. Reminiscent of math, and deadlines. But some people really dig that stuff, and if they do, this would be the perfect clock for them. Leigh likes it, which I don't get, cuz she's the only person that I've met that hates math more than I do. Labels: designers, geeks, home

thing to keep track of teens. or a husband. ![]() Not a fancy gps device - but just a digital memo recorder. And it would look great on the kitchen table. If you know someone who has teens, you know that they often don't have the spare energy it takes to jot down a simple note like "over at Harry's house." With this cool device, even the laziest teen (or husband) can record a message like "hey mom, over at Harry's. Be back at 7. I have my cell if you need me." See? Easy. hot house numbers ![]() Normally, most stuff at Design Within Reach is well out of reach. But these uber cool house numbers designed by Erik Spiekermann are almost affordable. As long as you live on a street with two digit numbers. You people in L.A. or Queens, with the four digit house numbers, are going to have to dig a little deeper.
