perfect for the person who drinks liquids

Everyone knows that the problem with bottles is those caps. So much effort to remove them.
Now, thanks to the bottle cap punch, you can pop a hole in the cap that fits your straw. Just the sort of useless device that your loved one is in total need of. This belongs in every stocking.

Rinse, Wash, Repeat

When your on the move all the time it may be hard to keep a tally of all of your gadgets and gear. Sometimes these items may find themselves heading for a certain watery fate, more specifically the washing machine. Fear not, this USB superstick from King Drive will stand up to the toughest spin cycle your washer has to offer and laughs in the face of the permanent press setting on your dryer. It will probably be fine after you get pushed into the pool with all your clothes on after your uncle has had too much to drink and gets a little too rowdy.

coolest straw ever

File this under things I wish I had when I was a kid. Actually, you can really file this under things I would like right now. The Guys over at boysstuff.co.uk offer the way cool DIY Strawz . Set up your own crazy drinking contraption and make mixed drinks without any mixing. This makes those crazy straws I had growing up look positively un-crazy.

desktop robot eats crumbs and sweater lint

At our agency, we're a little wary of robots (that's the unofficial office theme song at Plaid, for 2008).
But most people completely trust robots. And love robots. And worship anything inspired by robots. If there's a robotaholic on your gift list, she'll love this desktop robot vacuum.
Use it for fun, to clean up the cookie crumbs next to your keyboard, or use it for evil to keep you entertained during a boring conference call. Whatever your use, Mr. Desktop robot is sure to be your best desktop friend.

Can't miss with a classic

These watches not only tell time, they tell it with early 90's style. They come in a bunch of color options and can take a beating. You may have had one back in the day when you use to rock out to bands like Mr.Big.

see the world through a fisheye

Here's a great gift for the creative person in your life the Lomo Fisheye Camera.
"170-degree field of view The heart, soul, and blood of the Fisheye's brilliance: an enormous field of view that takes in literally half of the world around you and compacts it into a nice and tight circular image. Barrel distortions twist and bend your subjects around the edges, stretch them towards and away from your lens, and converge their lines towards the center." - available at fitzsu.com.
The Lomo Fisheye is $70, takes ol' school 35mm film, and is fun for all ages!

usb turntable

In my basement, I have about six boxes packed tight with vinyl records that I just can't let go of. And I know that I'm not alone here. A USB recordable turntable is the perfect gift for the music fan that needs to get their vinyl onto their ipod. Or for the person that needs to clean out their basement.

thing to keep track of teens. or a husband.

Not a fancy gps device - but just a digital memo recorder. And it would look great on the kitchen table. If you know someone who has teens, you know that they often don't have the spare energy it takes to jot down a simple note like "over at Harry's house."
With this cool device, even the laziest teen (or husband) can record a message like "hey mom, over at Harry's. Be back at 7. I have my cell if you need me." See? Easy.

solar battery charger

Solio makes this really cool 'extra battery' that you can charge up using that big ball of fire in the sky - and then use it to re-charge your phone, camera, whatever - when you're stuck in a pinch without an outlet.
They also make some pretty awesome ipod cases and things from recycled tires. From People Against Dirty. Thanks Giuli!

unnecessary phone accessory

I always think that the best gifts are the things you don't really need, and that you wouldn't likely buy for yourself. But that you totally dig. And this old school phone handset is just the thing. Can't you just see your friends cradling it between their head and neck as they're driving around town?
