will you miss your cozy cubicle during the holidays?

Got any gift recipients stuck in a cubicle all day? Get them their very own "The Cubes" to play with in their cubes. Or for when they get home and and their home/apartment doesn't feel cramped and 1980 enough.

Good thing our UPS guy doesn't look like this.

Slim Goodbody

Most of us are working in the creative field because we couldn't get into medical school. That doesn't mean we don't like anatomy. Hey I studied it every time we had a nude model in college drawing class. So whether you're a designer or a M.D. these socks will look cool on your feet.

Paper Invaders

Although we're still blogging about gift ideas, you should really be done with all your shopping by now, right? Time to wrap things up, get it? I can't wrap presents to save my life and to be honest I make my Mom do it for me, thanks Mom! The only problem is my Mom buys really lame wrapping paper. You know the kind, you've seen it at your local Walmart. So this year I might have Mom wrap gifts with this killer space invader wrapping paper thanks to whimsypress.

But if you're close to NYC you can head down to Scandinavian Grace in Brooklyn and grab yourself one of the coolest caps available for the winter for $135 - worth every penny in my opinion (Found via kitsunenoir)

Of course it's perfectly natural to stuff your face this holiday season but if you're tied to a desk all day like I am this can become a problem. So we need to keep that beer belly in check.

You might be asking yourself do I weigh myself in Pounds or Kilograms though? Now you can forget both because what's more universal that celebrities! Pick up this Celebrity Scale for everyone you know this holiday season - it also comes in a farm animal edition.

the art of Shepard Fairey

Here's a great book chronicling the art of Shepard Fairey. The Obey campaign started off as a joke, yet it has defined viral street art today. Growing from a grass roots campaign ignited by Fairey years ago, Obey has taken on a life of it's own, and is highly visible around the world.

This 360 page hardcover book contains hundreds of Obey illustrations. According to it's publisher - "Fairey's entire body of work, a massive retrospective covering 17 Years of this groundbreaking artist's prodigious output." "This massive book pulls no punches and all areas of the enigmatic artist's work, travels and travails are illuminated; from exhibitions, posters, flyers, silkscreens and stickers to high altitude pursuits, citations and police beatings, it's all documented in a museum quality layout and binding." The official Obey site has some sample pages for your viewing pleasure.

The best price I found (at a reputable store) was on Amazon, they list the book at around $38 vs. the $60 listed by the publisher.

Check out Shepard Fairey's official site for more info on this and other cool gift ideas.

keep them alive

OK, this breaks my rule of trying to focus on gifts under $100 (this one's $850), but given all of the survival news of late, The ICE-Qube is a great idea. Everything a family would need to survive, in the event of a catastrophe, packed into a cool designed box. Think Katrina. It could happen to you.

If like me, you're not giving any gifts this year in the $850 range - look at this as inspiration. You could build your own family survival box for MUCH less. And there are some really cool containers and things around, if you look hard enough. Everyone will look at you and say things like "ohh.... that's sooo thoughtful. What a wonderful gift." Thank me later. Ice-Qube discovered at Core77.

There are about six cabillion worthy non-profits, all who desperately need your hard earned cash. And you should definitely give to a few. (Feel free to list your favorites in comments.) But if you want to impress a creative person, give to a charity that means something in their industry.

Two that come to mind for internet workers:

thing to keep track of teens. or a husband.

Not a fancy gps device - but just a digital memo recorder. And it would look great on the kitchen table. If you know someone who has teens, you know that they often don't have the spare energy it takes to jot down a simple note like "over at Harry's house."

With this cool device, even the laziest teen (or husband) can record a message like "hey mom, over at Harry's. Be back at 7. I have my cell if you need me." See? Easy.
