IKEA is an experience in and of itself. The enormous store,
the complete rooms, the schlepping, the assembing, and the sense of achievement
when it’s all over. It’s all good — except for the pesky pain point when
you’re agonizing over whether that love seat is the right purchase. Now there’s
an app for that. The new IKEA Place app is
a clever piece of augmented reality technology that lets you pop a piece
of IKEA furniture into your own living room, scaled, angled, lit, and shadowed
within 98% accuracy. It’s so cool, you might even want to experience it when
you’re not shopping for furniture.
