Gone are the days of that torturous walk to the corner store
for a six-pack. No more the painful lifting of that heavy beer into your
shopping cart. Why? Because the good folks at MillerCoors understand the biggest pain point of the beer drinking experience: running out. And, they've just provided THE solution. Now you can get your
brew jones satisfied with the simple push of a button. Or a voice command, if
you really just can’t get off the couch, because, um, Netflix and stuff.
Called “Miller Lite On-Demand” (somewhat of an oxymoron in
my house, but that’s me), the brewer and IPG Mediabrands have jumped on the
Internet of Things bandwagon with Amazon’s Alexa technology to facilitate the
connected ordering and quick delivery of Miller Lite right to your doorstep. Drizly,
an online alcohol-ordering platform, promises a boozy knock on your door within
an hour.
With this, we may well have reached the very zenith of life
as we know it. First, Amazon Dash giving you push-button access to Slim Jims,
Kraft Mac & Cheese, and Depends. Then Pizza Hut steps up to the plate with
an ordering button on a pair of sneakers. Now, beer. The Holy Grail.
