what happens when you swallow 35mm film?

Yes, these two boys wanted to know too. So, Luke Evans and Josh Lake, students at Kingston University of UK, embarked on an adventure to swallowed 35mm film and document their results in an installation titled "I turn myself inside out."

After swallowing the film they had to wait as it passed through their entire digestive system where they then examined and washed it out in a dark room. Could you imagine that conversation? "Oh sorry dude, I can't go out tonight I have to..." Anyway, with the help of a scanning electron microscope, they were able to see how the body damaged the emulsion surface and thus creating these prints.
