a commercial is what you make of it
For those of you not watching Glee last night (or for those of you that refuse to admit you watched Glee last night) you missed an incredibly beautiful commercial for Google Chrome.
Let's face it, when you're a web browser, there's not much you can really say in a commercial about your product's features and benefits that will effectively convert users. So, what will work? Associating your product with a beautiful, inspiring, and touching campaign that people won't forget.
Cue this Google Chrome commercial telling the story of the "It Gets Better Project" created by Dan Savage, dedicated to reducing suicides, depression, etc. amongst young lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgenders by showcasing inspirational stories of adult LGBTs that assure them it will get better.
Already getting a ton of buzz on Twitter, I expect Google gained a lot of fans last night, including me.

So smart, and so well done.
Beyond the spot's message, it shows genius in the strategy of finding a topic that resonates far beyond a brand ... and yet tying your brand to that.
agree oh wise ben
