EightBit.me is the latest avatar maker that's sweeping the Twittersphere, at about a billion bits a second.
Because it's just in "beta" mode now, you have to sign up for an invite, or follow them on Twitter for the select opportunities to become a member and 8bitify yourself. Which, since it's not available to everyone immediately, makes it immediately hotter. The internet never stops, yo. From @miconian

no mention of the alternative the eightshit.me where in response to eightbit, eightshit has already hand drawn over 500 new twitter avatars for users in a little over a day.
