jersey barriers: no longer ugly

You know those concrete walls that they put up on the edge of the road during construction, designed to keep you safely on the road while they tear the side of your car off when the truck in the left lane squeezes you?

Jersey barriers. They're ugly concrete, and marred with paint from multiple lucky cars. Until now. The New York City Department of Transportation held a contest to beautify the ugly cement beasts with artwork, and they've chosen some winners.

Soon, driving through construction zones will be like driving through a wonderful art museum from the comfort of your luxurious motor coach.
