before soho was a shopping mall, this is what nyc was like

Yes, there was a time when SOHO was sketchy. And when subway cars were covered in graffiti and urine. Dangerous Minds has a handful of photos of old-school NYC subway life. From Bruce Wingate, via Facebook.

Ah, brings back such memories. Hoping the A train from Washington Heights down to West 4th; catching the 7 to get up to the Bronx. Good times! (Well, not always ...)

But Darryl, Darryl, Darryl: *Nobody* calls it SOHO. It's Soho. (Please don't tell me you pronounce it HUSE-ton street. :) )

Anyways, thanks for the link. Everyone needs to go to Netflix now and watch Wild Style.

Haha, Thanks, James. I'm clearly living up to my bridge & tunnel image with the SOHO reference.

And no - even though I hail from Texas, I can correctly pronounce Houston in NYC!

(And yeah - that pic soooo reminded me of rides to a friends dorm in the Bronx at 3am.)
