What if you went up against your competition, and lost?

MINI publicly challenged Porsche to a race against their iconic Porsche 911. Porsche accepted the challenge, and beat them. As a marketer, how do you deal with a public loss on a challenge that you initiated?

By openly accepting the loss with a nod to the reputation of your competitor. The "We almost beat frickin' Porsche" headline says it all.
