in the olden days of the ad industry...

Adbroad points us to the Museum of Forgotten Art Supplies, so that we may never forget that prior to the button pushing futuristic world that we now live in, artists and ad people actually had to work. Like getting ink on their hands and stuff. Gross.

OMG, this just totally brought me back. Visions of all-nighters, ink covered hands, and trying the hold the damn pen steady and not break the "nib". BTW, for those who are too young to know what this is, it's a rapidograph set. And it's evil.

Yes, they still use Rapidiographs in college. Also, this post offends me. :)

No intention of offending anyone here, just my own personal experience with rapidographs. I'm quite daft when it comes to these things :)

My brother owned one of these sets, and turned me onto it when I was, like, four, and I suffered similar life-long artistic traumas as did @teng.

@Matt? Yes, it totally gives me angina, as well. :-)

What, no Schaedler Precision Rules in the Museum? I still have a set around here somewhere. I seem to recall them seeming very expensive at least by college student standards. Maybe that's why I've held on to them for so long.
