art found in the garbage of old watches

Bad Banana found a collection of watch papers. Back before cell phones, people carried a different kind of watch in their pockets. And apparently they were easily scratched.

These papers were originally designed as protective inserts to keep the fancy watches from getting scratched inside their cases, but eventually became artful advertising pieces. People in the 1800's really knew how to party.
