I can't stand popularity contests. Or "top whatever" lists. But Tweettop has some potential. Taking a cue from Alltop, they're trying hard to be a resource, for Twitter. A collection of tweeters, neatly organized by topics. Grand idea.
In its current state, it's FAR from awesome, and smacks of "popularity contest." But I believe they're going to continue to populate the categories, and actually build a useful tool.
