poken: different than poking someone on facebook

And it's not like Pokemon, either. Poken is this new device that lets you trade your social media contact info with other Poken users through electronic transfer. You just touch your Poken to their Poken (yeah, I know how that sounds) and the magic stuff happens. Then you plug your Poken into your computer, and get all of your contact's details.

This would be really cool if everyone that was anyone already had a Poken. But can you imagine being the only guy at the party with a Poken? Excuse me, would you like to touch my Poken?

Idea: Give them to every registrant at SXSW. If they have any chance of taking off, that's the crowd. That's the place. That's the time.

Um, yeah. Or maybe people could exchange social media devices with code that allow the recipient to input the contact information into any storage device. They'd have to be small, perhaps flat to fit inside a wallet.

We could call them "business cards."

Thanks for mentioning my article! I'm now giving away some free Pokens on my website by the way.
