greatest mapping tool ever.

Want to see what iconic album artwork was photographed in your neighborhood? Traveling somewhere, and want to recreate your favorite album shots?

Word Magazine has created a Google Maps mashup that shows where album cover photographs were shot. This is awesome. Highly recommend a peek before leaving on your next trip to wherever. Unless you're going to Oklahoma, because it looks like they don't have any famous album covers there. Or North Dakota. Someone should check in on North Dakota, and make sure it's still there.

This is a pretty bitchin' idea. Spotted an error though - Pearl Jam cover (shot in George, WA) is not overlooking the Colorado River because, well, the Colorado doesn't flow through Washington state.

Bummer that you have to create an account with them to post corrections.
